So many boxes are ticked with the Superformance Ford GT40 but when it’s finished in the most iconic of motorsport liveries, then it’s time for some serious decision making. 

This right here is a 2012 Superformance GT40 Mk.I. If you’re not familiar with Superformance, learn that the California-based company is building continuation GT40s to the exacting standards of the original, models that’s licensed to carry the GT40 nameplate.

The monocoque chassis uses pressed steel and the suspension components are interchangeable with the original car, so what you have here is the mythical GT40, only newer and with modern brakes. 

The driver’s door features the iconic gurney bubble which allows taller drivers to enjoy this beautiful machine. The interior features Alcantara, a factory-installed roll cage, air-conditioning and of course the gear lever in the correct position, to the right of the driver. 

Power comes from a 6.9-liter Roush V8 which sends over 550hp via a ZF manual gearbox. The car currently has 598 miles on the clock and comes with complete UK paperwork. If you’re interested, this beautiful GT40 will be offered at the Silverstone Auctions’ Salon Prive event, with a sale estimate between £130,000 and £160,000 ($168k to $206k).

All-New Dacia Duster Officially Unveiled Ahead Of Frankfurt - Aluminum Roof Bars

After 7 years in production, the current Dacia Duster has been replaced by an entirely new generation. 

Unveiled online ahead of its public premiere that will take place on September 12, at 11:10 CET (5:10 am EST), during the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, the budget SUV carries an evolutionary design, which should help it continue the success of its predecessor.

Changes include the extended grille, flanked by wider headlights with incorporated LED DRLs, a modified front bumper with a silver skid plate made from a scratch-resistant material and new creases on the bonnet. The new Dacia Duster also comes with black wing arch trims, new taillights that are similarly shaped to those of the Jeep Renegade, aluminum roof bars, 17-inch wheels and a new exterior color, called Atacama Orange. 

Dacia says that the windscreen has been brought forward by 100mm (3.9in), and is more steeply raked, which frees some additional space in the cabin. However, images with the interior design have yet to be released, but the automaker describes it using words such as "completely redesigned", "quality-feel", and "new equipment". 

Those interested in the 2018 Dacia Duster should wait a couple of weeks to find out about its underpinnings, engine lineup, and safety gizmos, because the Romanian automaker will likely release them during the German event.

2018 Super Sedan BMW M5 Priced From £87,160 In The UK

UK pricing details for the 2018 BMW M5 have just been announced, solidifying the sedan’s place as a proper Mercedes-AMG E63 S rival.

The new M5 can be purchased for 87,160 pounds ($108,785), while the entry-level E63 starts at 78,935 pounds ($102,031) and the 603 hp E63 S sets UK customers back a minimum of 88,295 pounds ($114,130).

Compared to the old F10 M5, the new car is significantly pricier. In fact, the old car cost a ‘mere 73,985 pounds ($95,633). However, Bimmer Post points out that the new M5 comes with a host of standard features that were options on the old car and when specced equally, the old and new M5s are priced almost identically.

For the money, customers will get the keys to a super sedan powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 600 PS (591 hp) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque.

Thanks to the car’s use of an eight-speed automatic transmission and a new all-wheel drive system, 0-100 km/h (62 mph) passes in 3.4 seconds and 0-200 km/h (124 mph) in 11.1 seconds. Top speed sits at a limited 250 km/h (155 mph) but with the M Driver’s Package, that figure rises to 305 km/h (189 mph).

Dodge Viper ACR Records Faster Lap But Fails To Crack 7-Minute 'Ring Time - looking to Better the Times of the Porsche 918 Spyder and Lamborghini

In the latest attempt for the crowdfunded Dodge Viper ACR to set a Nurburgring production car lap record, the supercar has fallen just short of breaking the 7-minute barrier.

In July, the U.S. team headed to the circuit with Kumho’s support and looking to better the times of the Porsche 918 Spyder and Lamborghini Huracan Performante. Their best time was a blistering 7 minutes 3.45 seconds.

Returning to the circuit just a couple of days ago with pro-racers Dominik and Mario Farnbacher, their latest attempt resulted in a best lap of 7:03.23, just a couple tenths faster.

Speaking to Road&Track about the result, the team said exceptionally hot conditions at the circuit hampered any chance of setting a record. As a matter of fact, track temperatures hit 111 degrees Fahrenheit (43 Celsius), essentially cooking the tires.

“We tortured those tires. There’s no other way to describe it. What we did, driving those tires at those temperatures for so long, it’s just not been done before on the Kumhos. We’re learning about the window of best performance, as are the Kumho experts here with us, and it only gets smaller as these temperatures rise,” project backer Russ Oasis said.

According to Viper Exchange co-founder Bernie Katz, the team will make another trip to the circuit and believe a 6-minute fifty-something lap can be achieved.

2018 BMW i3S Debuts With Upgraded Electric Motor, Sportier Styling

The 2018 BMW i3 and i3S have been given an early unveiling by Automobile Magazine.

Set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the all-new i3S features an upgraded electric motor that reportedly produces 184 hp (137 kW) and 199 lb-ft (269 Nm) of torque - an increase of 14 hp (10 kW) and 15 lb-ft (20 Nm). 

Besides the upgraded engine, the i3S rides on a sport-tuned suspension that reduces the ride height by approximately half an inch (12.7 mm). The model also comes equipped with 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels that are slightly wider than the ones on the standard i3.

Speaking of the exterior, both models adopt a new front bumper with restyled fog lights. The standard i3 has chunky plastic body cladding but that's thankfully absent on the i3S which has black accents and metallic trim.

The interior largely carries over but the optional Giga World trim now boasts Giga Brown Natural Leather and Carum Spice Grey Wool Cloth. Elsewhere, drivers will find the latest iDrive infotainment system with Apple CarPlay compatibility.

The i3's electric-only range remains unchanged but the car comes with an improved charging cable that enables the battery to be completely replenished in just three hours. This is reportedly five times faster than the previous Level 1 charging cable.

2018 Porsche Cayenne Surfaces Early With An Evolutionary Design - with Larger Air Intakes

The first pictures of the 2018 Porsche Cayenne have surfaced online ahead of its official unveiling on August 29th.

Posted by Auto Express, the images reveal the redesigned crossover will have an evolutionary exterior that is instantly recognizable. 

Starting up front, the model adopts a modestly revised grille with larger air intakes and slimmer LED daytime running lights. We can also see familiar headlights and a new hood.

Moving further back, the Cayenne has a sportier roofline and what appears to be a longer wheelbase. The rear quarter windows are also smaller than before and this help to give the crossover a more athletic appearance. 

Of course, the biggest change occurs out back as the Cayenne adopts new taillights which are similar to the ones used on the Panamera Sport Turismo.

While the exterior styling will be familiar to previous Cayenne owners, the cabin is all-new and equipped with a number of high-tech features. 

Once seated behind the three-spoke steering wheel, drivers will find themselves surrounded by leather upholstery, wood trim, and a new instrument cluster which appears two have two different digital displays. The cabin also boasts a massive widescreen infotainment system which resides above a new center console that has digital controls similar to those on the Panamera.

Details will be announced next week but the Cayenne is expected to be powered by a variety of different engines sourced from the Panamera. At launch, we can expect a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 developing 330 hp (246 kW) and 331 lb-ft (448 Nm) of torque as well as a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 churning out 440 hp (328 kW) and 405 lb-ft (548 Nm) of torque. They will eventually be joined by additional options including a plug-in hybrid unit.

New Chevrolet Equinox Gains The RS Badge In China

Described as "a nod to the increasing demand for performance-inspired styling among Chinese vehicle buyers", the new Chevrolet Equinox RS has been launched in the People's Republic. 

It represents the company's second introduction of the RS trim in the Asian country, after the Camaro RS earlier this year, and it's currently on display at the 2017 Chengdu Motor Show. 

The new Chevrolet Equinox RS features a few visual updates over the regular models, such as the black finished grille surroundings, Chevy bowties, side mirror casings, rear nameplate, and logo. It also gets the red 'RS' badge, body-color door handles, dark-painted wheels with silver accents, and two exterior colors to choose from: red and black. 

Customers can choose between two powertrains: the 2.0-liter turbo'd unit, mated to GM's 9-speed Hydra-Matic gearbox, or the 1.5-liter turbo married with a 6-speed transmission. 

Prices for the Chevrolet Equinox RS range between RMB 220,900 and RMB 250,900, equal to $33,158-$37,661 at the current exchange rates, and the vehicle can already be ordered at selected dealers throughout China.

Rolls-Royce Wraith Police Cruiser Would Gladly Patrol Gotham City

Forget about Sussex's Ghost police cruiser, because this Rolls-Royce Wraith study sits in a league of its own. 

Rendered by RainPrisk, the luxury two-door coupe features extended wheel arches on all four corners, an adjustable front apron, blacked-out headlights and grille, and a black exterior. 

Another thing that sets this Wraith apart from its tuned siblings is the addition of red and blue police lights in the grille, and under the headlights. Of course, it would have been even cooler if it had a roof-mounted light bar, or at least a visor light bar, and a full police livery.

Back in the real world, the Ghost, along with its derivatives, is no longer taking center stage in the brand's lineup, as Rolls-Royce has an entirely new generation of the Phantom out, which is looking to reclaim the crown as the most luxurious car out there. 

It carries an evolutionary styling, an entirely new interior design, fitted with new technologies and a bunch of expensive materials, and it rides on an aluminum spaceframe platform that was designed specifically for Rolls-Royce.

Audi Patent's Tech That Calculates A Hybrid's Most Efficient Route - Uses the Electric Motor

Audi has patented an intriguing piece of technology which allows a hybrid vehicle to find the most fuel efficient route for a given journey.

The patent, recently published by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, involves the navigation system examining the route and determining the most frugal way to reach the destination . Depending on how much charge the battery has, the route will vary.

Things get even more in-depth from there. If the driver so desires, the system could find a route that uses only battery power or alternatively, one that uses the electric motor and internal combustion engine in tandem.

In the patent Audi says that owners of plug-in hybrids traditionally want to maximize their fuel efficiency and ideally, travel to certain destinations solely on electric power. Consequently, the marque says that “the electric driving experience [is] increased but the carbon dioxide emissions or also the emission of other pollutants in driving operation may also be decreased.”

Like other great ideas, this one offers a rather simple solution to consumer demand, frequently calling for more fuel-efficient vehicles, and can be expected to feature in Audi production cars in the not too distant future.

Rolls-Royce Dawn Matches Michael Fux's Pink 720S

Rolls-Royce has just presented a bespoke Dawn created for car collector Michael Fux at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Like Fux’s bright pink McLaren 720S presented during Monterey Car Week festivities, this Rolls-Royce Dawn is unlike any other. In fact, both Rolls-Royce and McLaren color matched a flower that Fux found at last year’s Pebble Beach to create the custom exotics.

Alongside the pink exterior of the Dawn, the car also includes pink wheel center caps and a pink folding top. Inside, the cabin combines pristine white leather with pink accents on the dashboard, steering wheel and door panels.

Speaking about the car, Michael Fux said “When I commissioned my first Bespoke Rolls-Royce in 2005, I wanted something completely different than any of the other cars commissioned at the time. I knew the designers had a lot of creativity that I wanted to explore. I love the heritage of the Rolls-Royce brand and I love these cars. I always challenge my fellow owners to push the Bespoke envelope.”

First Koenigsegg Regera Fitted Increase of Around 25 Percent in Downforce

Koenigsegg visited Monterey with a fleet of new and older models, where it also revealed the new Aero package for the Regera, as well as the new Ghost package for its older CCX and CCXR models. 

The Regera’s new Aero Package consists of a pair of new front and rear winglets, alongside a deeper front spoiler. The rear winglets compliment the retractable active rear wing when it’s fully deployed. 

Koenigsegg claims that the addition of the Aero Package has increased the available downforce up to 385kg (849 lbs), from 310kg (682 lbs)of the standard Regera. This represents an increase of around 25 percent in downforce, with drag being only slightly increased by less than five percent.

Owners of the older CCX and CCXR models can now spec their cars with the company’s new Ghost package which includes a number of options like a larger front splitter, an Agera rear diffuser, Agera carbon wheels, Agera RS side mirrors, a larger twin-deck rear wing and an upgraded exhaust system.

CCX and CCXR owners can buy the new Ghost package as a whole or in parts, with Koenigsegg also throwing in the obligatory special Ghost badges.

Carbon Pagani Huayra BC Lands In U.S. With a Twin-Turbocharged AMG 6.0 Liter

The Pagani Huayra BC has quickly become the latest must-have car for multi-millionaires throughout the United States and just a few days ago, yet another BC landed on U.S. soil.

Delivered by Prestige Imports in Miami, this Huayra is one of the most intriguing we’ve seen to date, mainly because it doesn’t feature colored carbon fiber but is instead finished entirely in traditional gloss carbon.

Helping to make the Italian hypercar stand out however are bright yellow pinstripes throughout the front and rear ends as well as the sides and doors. Even the wheels have yellow accents and sit over a set of yellow brake calipers. The design also closely matches the black and yellow McLaren P1 that belongs to the same owner.

Pagani unveiled the Huayra BC at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016 and confirmed that just 20 coupes will be built, likely followed by 20 roadster variants. Each is fitted with a twin-turbocharged AMG 6.0-liter V12 delivering 789 hp and 811 lb-ft of torque and mated to a seven-speed automated manual transmission from Xtrac.
